Auerberg Tunnel B2 - Monitoring for maximum safety

Project overview

The Auerberg tunnel on the B2 motorway between Eschenlohe and Oberau in Germany is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Bavaria and is intended to significantly relieve the region around Garmisch-Partenkirchen from the high volume of traffic.

With a length of about 1.9 kilometres and anchors that are up to 50 metres deep As the tunnel extends into the rock, it places special demands on the stability and monitoring of the construction. The Enertec Engineering AG is proud to have supported this challenging project with precise measurement technology for monitoring the anchor forces.

Our services in detail

To ensure the long-term stability of the tunnel, we supplied and implemented the following measurement technology:

Hydraulic armature load cells with pressure gauge (Type CTE)

The hydraulic load cells with pressure gauge of the Type CTE were used to monitor the deep anchors. They provide reliable real-time data on the stress distribution and stability of the anchors, enabling precise monitoring of the entire structure.

Electrical load cells (type LCM)

For even more precise measurements, we also have electrical load cells from the Type LCM supplied. These boxes record the loads on the anchors, which are installed up to 50 metres deep in the rock, and help to ensure the stability of the structure.

Solar-powered Data logger for automatic measured value acquisition

Our Data logger are equipped with solar cells, which means they can be operated independently for years. These loggers record the measured values automatically and transmit them regularly to a central data platform via the 4G network. This ensures continuous monitoring without the need for manual intervention.
